[sdiy] MIDI + Ethernet+USB/Parallel port

This is something I want to know, as I've been thinking about it.
Used to be gameport-midi was the way to go (still see cables for it on
ebay) but I don't have a gameport on this computer... but i DO have a
parallel port.
I've googled, but i've only found gameport midi adaptor schematics.
There's rumors and broken links about the "Paramid", but that appears
old ("tested on 286, 386, and portables") and would most likely not be
covered drivers-wise by Windows.
Anyone know where to find instructions on how to make this, and a way
to interface it to applications in windows 2000?
