I find this of default interest, actually incredibly interesting,
consumingly so, especially with regard to all of the foaming at the mouth
that I've heard from MIDI-haters. So we have an example of a non-MIDI
instrument (and therefore a REAL instrument) that presents real latency
that drives the musician to - Oh my God - deal with the latency by
LEARNING how to play it. (CRAP! how unperfect!) I have not personally
noticed MIDI latency myself with keyboards, but then I don't try to play
through an ocean of messages, however, I have noticed a small latency with
my GR-50 before I switched to modified Nashville tuning. I did get used
to it and it's now a great source of fun.

THIS IS NOT TO START A MIDI LATENCY WAR THREAD. THOSE OF YOU WHO HATE
MIDI NEED NOT RESPOND. YOU/WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE. It's just an observation
that it can happen with "real" instruments and that when people *really*
want to make music with instruments that have built in latency, they learn
how to deal with it. I did.

You may now continue with your regularly scheduled program...
