[sdiy] pic/eprom/microcontroler programer question

hello list
i'm intrested in getting a pic/eprom burner.
i was wondering if people on the list could recomend one.
i am currently looking at the PICALL programmer kit (v3.34).
i'd like to program my own miniwave eproms, old crow's noise source,
led flashers , clock programs for my nixie clocks i make and getting into hal chamberlins
microcontrolers for music book.

would this programmer work for all those purposes?
any other suggestions?

thanks alot - new to this realm - but think its the next step for me
