they list LM394 "Supermatch Pair" in "white noise sources...

I guess you use it for an ultra low noise amplifier so you don't corrupt the
spectrum of your reverse biased NOS 2N2712 (selected, of course...)

I don't even think MOTM would use the LM394 in a noise source   :^P
