If absolutely all else fails, you can use a tiny screw extractor, but you
will have to find a new set screw after that operation, and possibly a new
knob as well. I've had to drill out set screws and use screw extractors on
them before. I usually don't have to replace the piece the set screw was
located in (a knob in your case), but I could conceive of situations where
this *might* happen.
