This may be true for today's computer scenario where the 8086 descendants
run most of the machines, both on user and server side. But in general it
doesn't matter. Could be as well some 68k, ARM, Sparc, HP-PA and whatever
else is around similarly long.

(If someone invents "Sliders"-like wormhole traveling to parallel
universes, I'd like to see the world of today without the dominance of
Intel and Microsoft and what machines they run :)

Now if you had named the i4004 and (shortly after) TMS1000 which started
all this microprocessor fuzz...
