I just discovered that Fairchild is making low gain transistors! They are even
sorted in gain bands and specified that way. Mouser carries three of the gains -
from the middle of the range.

The transistors are SS9011 - might be useful as a replacement in Germanium based
circuits.

. . . and I just placed a large order last month. Now I have to wait to buy
some.
