Why not solder some pig tails to an off the shelf socket, add some heat
shrink tubing on each lead to prevent shorting and a larger piece of h/s
tubing over the pair of leads but don't shrink the last layer yet. solder
your new socket to the PCB and orientate it to accommodate available space
and to make it accessible then shrink the last layer of h/s. This should
keep it in place.
