Hi group-
I'm in need of some potentiometer nuts and I don't know what size they are. I need help finding out which kind to buy.
I have a bunch of pots I got surplus but they don't have any nuts. When I search the web for sources, I need to provide the sizes and thread pitch to query availability. There are no markings on the pots so I can't cross reference these. I have an example nut that fits too.
I tried using a tap and die set to hunt for the right match but nothing matched. It must be a non-typical nut.
Can anyone help me out of this problem? Where can I get nuts with some certainty that I'm getting the right ones? Aren't these nuts somewhat standard for pots?
The pots are nothing special. They look identical this: http://www.geofex.com/Article_Folders/potsecrets/pot1.JPG. Mine are the small version of that (about 5/8" body diameter and a 5/16" diameter shaft).
Thanks...
