Customs.

Synthesizers are listed under the TARIC code 9207 10 50 with a duty rate
of 3.2% of the value of the imported goods (*)

(*) http://europa.eu.int/comm/taxation_customs/dds/cgi-bin/tarduty?ProdLine=80&Type=0&Action=1&Lang=DE&SimDate=20040127&YesNo=1&Indent=-1&Flag=1&Test=tarduty&Periodic=0&Download=0&Taric=9207105000&Country=US%2F0400&Day=27&Month=01&Year=2004)

(Electronic organs are 10 10, digital pianos 10 30, all others *with
keyboard* are 10 80.)

This rate applies for private goods with values of more than 45 EUR (175
EUR if you import it personally, i.e. as a tourist), or commercial samples
of up to 50 EUR per item.

Use Babelfish on http://www.zoll-d.de/faq/index.html to get the customs
FAQ.

I guess, it's a defective Jupiter 6 for repair and worth not more than 45
EUR... (And, by the way, they *really* open those big parcels. They almost
ruined me a "naked" keyboard during inspection.)
