So much for my theory that short, 128-stage BBD's might be cheaper and
easier to source...I found ONE source for the MN3206, and they want...wait
for it...
US$36.54 apiece! And they have all of 15 in stock now.
Obviously these are only good for repairing old gear, and probably should be
saved for just that. Even though my original reason for wanting one has been
"designed out", I still find it noisome that there doesn't seem to be a
simple short delay package. Ah well, at least the newer Panasonic chips look
like they provide a nice answer to more conventional delay needs. Ken's pcb
will be fun for folks to play with, and the two Scott's are having fun with
the PT2399, which looks to be a real good single-chip solution within it's
delay range. It'll be a while before I get around to looking at a "real"
delay module, but it's comforting to see accessable methods for achieving
it.
