Oh man, I hate to say this, but anywhere that I am working (I'm a contractor)
I just ask questions. I look around and lo and behold there's a drawer full
of junk. Last time it was modems. I got 5 wallwarts from that load, all
fully legally mine by virtue of "I asked, they said Take it"... No, you
don't get to pick the voltage and current of immediate preference, but I can
say that I have used most of what I've acquired this way.

Keep your "junk eyes" open at all times.

One man's junk is another man's "Jeeziz, I NEED that!".
