....Where does one buy Dbx vca's on a chip?  Are they expensive?

BTW, I am working on a PCB based on the "Mike Irwin EDN" linear VCA, based
on the SSM2164.  The prototype I built works great, has almost no parts so
its small, and my thought was this could be used for a variety of things,
incl. controlling amplitudes of various feedback loops, for relatively
little dough, in applications like this.
