[sdiy] Cool chip alert (OT: OOPic)

Hi!

Tony Brenke (trbrenke at yahoo.com) or Dennis Clark (dlc at verinet.com) are good
OOPic resources. They're very vocal on the oopic yahoo group and Dennis
wrote a book on the OOPic that came out last year. I don't think they'd
necessarily be able to help with questions concerning Magnevation though. I
don't know if they are affiliated with it or not.

I've used the OOPic quite a bit (building robots!), including the SCP
protocol that the new speak-jet chip uses.

If you look at the documentation of other products from Magnevation, you'll
see that they're all pretty simple. You don't want to scare beginner robot
builders with lots of technical details. However, I do agree that there
should be some examples using SCP. I'm sure they'll update it soon. I have
one on order, so as soon as it comes in, I'll give everyone an update. :-)

Cheers!
- Bret
