[sdiy] Solder differences: what to look for?

and im sure theres people in the states that would be willing to send some
'illegally' after its been phased out...

does anyone know what they are doing about manufactureres? becuase im sure
it cant be helping the economy by telling every single electronics company
in europe that they need to change how they make their products. and what
about imported toys and synths made in japan, etc? europe obviously cant cut
off trade but most electronics are from china, japan, hong kong.
