I know this is absolutely, COMPLETELY OT, but I just CANNOT believe that
we're no longer going to service the Hubble space telescope and just let it
fall back to Earth sometime in 2005 or 2006.

A complete waste, and very shortsighted. They're saying it's too dangerous
for shuttle crews to service it anymore... HELLO? Space exploration is still
a dangerous thing to do and we're not going to make any advances if we only
pick 'safe' missions. The astronauts fully understand this, and there still
is a huge pool of qualified volunteers. Heck, I'd go in a SECOND if they'd
take me!
Okay, I'll shut up now.
