Hi!

This is related to a question I asked here earlier about NiMH batteries. I
stumbled across this page:

which gives a nice overview of NiCd and NiMH cells. It goes into detail
about what the completely misnamed "memory effect" actually is, etc.
Very informative. I wondered why my HAM books (yeah, I'm studying to get my
license) always claim that you shouldn't discharge any individual cell below
1V, but everyone always says "discharge FULLY to prevent memory". Turns out,
"everyone" is just plain wrong, the radio guys know what they are talking
about.
