Ha! Finally I'm able to join two branches of this thread again.

The equivalent in analog circuit design to a GOTO instruction is a 
trimpot!!

Too lazy or not able to calculate the correct resistor value and the 
required tolerance? Just slab in a trimpot. I'm sure many trimpots 
could be avoided.

BTW, the equivalent in digital circuit design to a trimpot/GOTO is a 
monoflop... ;-)
