The first BBD (discrete, of course) was published in Nature, vol 169,
p148, Jan 26, 1952."Discontinuous Low-Frequency Delay Line with
Continuously Variable Delay".
It was independantly invented by George Philbrick on jan 19, 1952
and prototyped on the 14 of Feb that year.
his first one used eleven 12AT7, ten 12AU7, and six 12AX7.
Philbrick was second, but he DID invent the name.. 'Bucket Brigade'.
