[sdiy] MG-1 transformer troubles... repair or replace?

I had the exact same thing happen once. The top of the MG-1 tipped over
backwards and ripped a terminal off the secondary of the transformer (won't
be making that mistake again).

I finally saved it by carefully unwrapping the transformer a few turns
until I found the broken wire. I melted the lacquer off the end of the wire
with a blob of solder on the tip of my iron and got enough bare wire
exposed to make the repair.

This really had me going for a while.
