You can do that with a DAW.

yeah, noisy buggers, but they do have a certain 'something'.

consider the DAW as a way of replacing it, which a much stronger link.
Like I say you can use the DAW just as a mixer with built in effects if you
want.
The difference is, most DAWs you can expand and add more inputs/outputs at a
later date.
