I have more delay based effects than I need. 8-)
Haven't counted them, but probably more than 10 delays and 4 or 5 reverbs.
Many of them "vintage" with certain pecial character, but too cheap to
consider selling them building up funds for a DAW. One of them
so expensive (and indispensable) that I will never record without it
anymore:
the QRS. (Yes, 20kHz sampling rate. (;->) )
But the main reason for keeping all this hardware is that I'm playing a lot
more than
I'm recording. Playing for fun 150 days / year, recording a CD every 2 or 3
years.
So I need all the sweet FX while playing, not just for mixdown.

He he!
Well almost. It's not the noise I'm afraid of. In fact, my Wurlitzer
pruduces more noise
than all the desk and outboard gear combined.
Just thought about "character" of the desk. I'm building more outboard gear
than synths
now (tube compressors etc.), so the desk might soon become the "weak link"
in my studio.
