8-bit ADC to 8-bit DAC.... geta  good one and you should be giggling 
manically.......you can get combined chips and it's also possible to use 8 
bits of a 10 or 12 bit unit to improve it...... It's how the ELektor 
Quantisiser did it. The Quantisiser also allowed you to use an LFO to create 
an arpeggio if you used the optional EPROM. I have soem of the EPROM's if 
you want one......somewhere anyway
