I know the Analog vs Digital debate is fun and all, but I'm still kinda
stuck on the Panel Making part of DIY at the moment...

Saw this :
http://www.etch-o-matic.com/laser-engraving/

Its a electro-chemical marker. Print a stencil, tape in place, soak
buzzappyshocky thing in electrolyte and apply for some number of seconds.
The black looks fairly black and they say it will apply to aluminum easily.

The small one only does small stencils which may still be good for labeling
a front panel one control at a time, the large one will do up to 2"x4" which
could nail a 2U fracrack in 2 passes max.

$69 for the small one.

Damnit, I'm gonna find the perfect method for DIY panels!

Did I mention the laser printable silkscreens from http://www.photoez.us/
yet? You know I'm all over that like a fat guy on a pizza. Hrm, now I've
made myself hungry...
