Just a note about the Power One supplies.  This will be a no-brainer to
everyone but I'll mention it anyway because I forgot and it bit me in the
behind...

They have overvoltage protection.  If you tweak them to a higher voltage (
say, +/-5 tweaked to +/-6 ) you also have to change some resistor values in
the crowbar circuit or it will happily pop the mains fuse for you under any
load.

I vaguely remember there being something you had to tweak for even switching
a +/-12 to +/-15 ( I think it was a jumper cut or add depending on direction
).  Unfortunatly PowerOne doesnt heavily document their linear supplies on the
website.
