As usual, Harry is right (does Dana ever get tired of you always being right, 
Harry?).  And not surprisingly, Gene is right, too.  As usual.  If you're new 
around here, you probably don't yet realize that when those two guys speak, 
you should definitely listen -- especially when they speak in unison.  Anyway, 
just buy a commercially made power supply and get right into the serious (and 
less risky) work of making synth modules.  A power supply is really not the 
place to be testing out your newbie chops.  Later on, after you have convinced 
yourself that you're starting to know what you're doing, you might try building 
a modest, fairly low-current supply for a small project -- but not now, not 
as your first project.  BTW, those PowerOne supplies are really nice, and you 
can't beat the value for those kind of prices.
