[sdiy] Should I repair my Fostex, or should I go HD recording?

hey peter,
that's weird. i';ve had 4 or 5 firewire boxes here, and none of them said
that.. the only thing i can trhink of is that maybe it has to do with the
fact that most of them have external power supplies and they're afraid of
the power or something. i'm pretty sure if you turn your ps off, plug it in
and then turn it on, there's no damage to be done.. i've had boxes from
yamaha, prosonus, maudio and hercules here that were all perfectly
hot-pluggable.
