Is the problem in the cable itself, or where the cable connects to the
something? E.g., a bad solder connection... should be an easy fix.
If it's somewhere in the cable, can't you just replace the cable with
new multiconductor cable? Not having seen that cable, I'm taking
guesses, but it sounds like something simple to fix. If you don't
want to replace the cable, is there some place where the cable is
frequently twisted and bent, where the open circuit may be, that you
can just cut apart and repair?
