Certainly. The biggest limitation of low frequency resolution is the 
minimum beating frequency (or beating time). 0.01 Hz resolution gives you 
a maximum beating time of one and half minutes which is longer than many 
analog oscillators can do.

More important consideration for "good" sound is aliasing. You _Really_ 
want to avoid that. A trivial sawtooth at 44.1 kHz sampling rate is simply 
unusable past a few hundred Hz (and sounds bad before that already).
