I used a 6502 and 10-bit DAC to generate haversine waves. It
was fairly low frequency (more like a fancy ADSR than a DCO
but generated 16 channels simultaneously. I used a wave table
lookup with interpolation. It would have been much easier if
the dipshit who designed the DAC board had put 8 bits in one
word and 2 bits in the other rather than 5 and 5. Most of the
instructions were for aligning/masking the data to fit into
those damn 5-bit ports.

Sorry for venting about a 25+ year old design screwup.
