[sdiy] 1/4" phone plugs

Hey y'all, I'm making a couple of 1/4" to 1/8" adaptor patch cords for
myself and I'm just wondering where folks get their plugs.  I went by Sam
Ash yesterday to get some cable which was 40 cents/foot.  But their plugs
were $2 a piece for a brand called "Horizon" regular 2 conductor metal
plug???  Seemed like too much.  What's a reasonable price to pay for plugs
(and now that I think of it, audio cable?)?  Also good places to get them?
