I've been told the 1900 was the radio tuning knob for the WWII Willies Jeep.
The one in all the war movies. I don't know, but I do know that is why
Davies can't figure out why the public won't just let it die, like they wish
it would. They also told me their machine makes 10,000 knobs in 8 hours of
operation, which is more than they can sell in an entire year. So it is not
worth running it even 1 day a year.
Also the mechanism that puts the lines on is worn out and not worth fixing.
The fact that the knobs looks so bad, didn't help with keeping the 300
series in production.
