Not really.

The post stamp is on front of the envelope. As long as there's no
official seal on the back of the envelope which proves that this
envelope wasn't opened and its contents replaced *after* being received,
the whole effort is lost.

So I'd rather put everything in an envelope together with an official
statement sealed and signed by a notary *and* let that envelope be
offically sealed and signed again.

Should work better in court.

But you could copyright the schematic of your patented circuit :)
