[sdiy] Stobe Tuners

My StrobeTuner 220 is on it's last legs, so I was looking at strobe tuners
on the internet today. I found two really nice one, but they both cost
about $500 (there abouts). So, I began thinking, why should I spend $500
on something that somebody else built, when I can easily spend $1000 and do
it my self. So, I began thinking and I do believe I have come up with a
more or less painless way of making a strobe tuner. I will draw up a
schematic this weekend and post it. I am hoping I will have enough time to
lay out a PC board and get that off as well. I am going to use 64 bi-color
LEDs to simulate the strobe wheel. The rest of the details would only take
up a lot of space...so I will wait until I get things firmed up. Biggest
problem is what to use for a phase accumulator that will not take up a
jillion IC packages....
