Tuj,

have any interesting digital circuit designs for processing audio? I'm
looking at using an 8-bit ADC that put all 8-bits out in parallel, and a
corresponding 8-bit parallel input DAC. I'd be very interested in hearing
if anyone has any neat ideas that would fit into this scheme.

A while back (don't ask how many years ago), I thought about take a sound
in, via an 8bit parallel DAC, and then have an option to 'swap around' the
bits or even to do some basic boolean (and/Xor/Nor and so on) and then
output them via an 8bit DAC.
I never got around to building it... so I've no idea what it would sound
like.
I was thinking it would be a good way of obtaining complex waveforms for
simple Sawtooth based VCOs.
