I'm probably qualified to comment on this. I used to have a Roland SH-1000
that I kept sitting on top of my Vox Super Continental. It's true that the
SH-1000 has several different footages simultaneously available, thanks to
the divider circuitry which processes the signal from its VCO. However, the
SH-1000 can't fully imitate the Vox organ, because there are no fractional
footages, and the "mixture" stops on the VOX are not possible to recreate
with the SH-1000. You would be limited to recreating the 16, 8, and 4 foot
drawbars. Also, the SH-1000 only has one oscillator. When using the mixture
drawbars of the Vox, you are actually using pitches from different
oscillators. This has a certain richness which the SH-1000 can't duplicate
with its single oscillator.
take care,
Glen
