I've worked at an impulse welding machine once, this thing functions by 
short circuiting a 3kV/100µF capacitor through the piece you're welding, 
forming a single loop of current. One day one of the maintenance guys 
was missing a screwdriver. It was found firmly stuck in the concrete 
wall of the building, about 15m away from the machine. This also 
explained the oddly shaped hole one of the side panels had developed. 
Since that day I know a guy can pale and red-face at the same time...
