Trying to write editors for synths you don't have access to doesn't work
all too well in my experience. Even if you have all the documentation
there will still be the occasional undocumented or accidental feature
(aka bug) to stop you cold.

The two DCO in the M6 have their own clock while it's shared in the
M1000. The M1000 is mono and the M6 stereo. You can edit an M6 from the
front panel, but not an M1000. The CEM3396 in the M6 is the wide-body
version.

Check http://www.jsynthlib.org - IIRC they have an editor for the M1000
and the M6.

I would expect not much differences in the sound dump format, the M6 and
M6R share the same voice board(s).

A Matrix-12 basically is two Xpander in one box plus a keyboard, but
then again it is missing stuff the Xpander has (like CV In).

LP 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-pole
HP 1-, 2-, 3-pole
HP 2-, 3-pole w/ LP 1-pole in series
BP 2-, 4-pole
Notch 2-pole
Notch 2-pole w/ LP 1-pole in series
Allpass 3-pole (phase shift)
Allpass 3-pole (phase shift) w/ LP 1-pole in series
