[sdiy] Trigger Gen - stop already!

Questions and ponderences:

I like events that start and stop when I want them to. Obedience is a real
big with me. A lot of these events have to do with a metric or otherwise
pulse string. Problem is, when I stop the pulses (like through a VC switch,
or an and gate or whatnot), I'm always at the whim of when the next pulse
happens to be happening juxtaposed when I told it to end. More times than
not, I get that one last pulse at the end and it screws everything up.

So I was thinking - what if I put a switch right in the trigger circuit
itself - a bit of logic that allowed the flyback reset to pass or not. I
may have to put a latched flip flop and a comparator or two in there to
assure it didn't turn off until the core charge was at the end of it's cycle
or something.

Is this overkill?
