I've been playing with incandescent NTC thermistors over teh alst few days.
The problem is they aren't meant to incandese! They were nearly 13k cold.
Popped them across a 15V supply, and the self heating was so rapid that
within a second or so they were down to 10 ohms and glowing.... oops. These
ones also have a separate heater coil, just to make life interesting - a
thermo-coupler, if you like.
