Well, for one, the LM13600 is no longer made. You can get the NJM13600
which is a second source part from Mouser, but as far as I know, that is
it. The most significant thing about the NE5517 is that ON semiconductor
only recently started making them. It was kind of good news because for
the past couple of years, manufacturers have been stopped making a lot of
OTA's. Recently, Intersil stopped making the CA3080, National stopped
making the LM13600. I could have also sworn that they stopped making the
LM13700, but that part is fully active again. There also used to be a lot
of other OTA makers as well, they have all stopped (EXAR is one of these,
they used to make the XR13600).
