I think that if you check on the actual response... you will find that most
of the
usable resistance change takes place in the low mA region... so going for
higher
currents will have very little added effect.

If you are looking for "full on" by all means blast as many photons as
possible... but
I think for most lowpass apps you want the higher resistance range (from
10M -
maybe 20K ???)
