Well, you were right. The 4049 shouldn't be buffered. I'm still using 741's
but I'm planning to try to change these to OP27. Do you know where I can
buy these in Sweden, or by mail?

4049BP sounds like a buffered output version - that's
what the B stands for. I guess the IC is being (mis)used
as an analog IC, and buffered CMOS doesn't work. It
speeds the IC up as a logic IC, but it makes it non-linear.
Look for unbuffered 4049s - they may have the letters "UB"
(for unbuffered) in the name, eg 4049UBP.
