I've been using a Needhams PB10 I got off ebay a few years ago for about
$60 --
it plugs into a card slot on my old 386 (that's right, it's simple,
reliable DOS software), software was a free download, and it programs all
the older devices (which is important to me, since I'm working on old
synths) -- except for the 2708 multiple-power types.
I'm sure there are a number of similar devices out there -- the pre-PIC
stuff is going for very cheap, these days.
