thank you for the explanation. sorry i didn't pay more attention at robinsons.

you can go there! i have nothing to do with the indigo! and
besides, i've probably heard it all, already! but feel free to dig
deep! :)

>I once had a piano, but had to get rid of it, cos the user interface
>needed two hands :-P

man, i can say that about lots of things one ought not to get rid of.

>You don't need FUNC to go into track record mode. You hold REC + the key
>for the track you want to record on.

okay, i do that.

>From pattern edit mode, you just press REC and it enters record mode.

and anything i play on keys is supposed to be recorded?

>Once in record mode, you do need to press the softkey to switch from
>'ready' to 'live' - otherwise you're just practicing.
>FUNC+REC is for arpeggiator mode, but you can only use that in pattern
>edit.
>If everyone stuck the 'standard' way of doing things, we'd never get
>anywhere.

>Turn it on. Press RUN. If the LED for track 1 is not green (active)
>press the key so it turns on.
>Now hold PLAY/EDIT and press key 1. You're in pattern edit mode.
>Now press a few step keys, and notes should start playing on those
>steps.
>Use the bottom knobs to change the notes.
>Use the top knobs to change the velocity.
>If you want to set the gate length or step delay, press the upper mode
>key so the LEDs cycle thru velo/leng/dlay/aux.

okay. i'm gonna do all this when i get back to the office tomorrow
(which is where it sits, safe and secure), and before i give it to
grandmaster gerty babe, i'll hopefully get a small chance to
privately get my groove on with it, show it off around work a bit,
before it moves on to its true master.

one thing: func + REC + track button is a long stretch on the galatic
P3 ... is there a different mapping for that 3FS on this particular
model?

>Video tutorials are going to appear some time...

yes!!! great idea! i'm looking really forward to this!
