Yeah, that's what I was thinking.  It would appear that the 5 pulser really 
only has ten (or maybe nine) different possible output settings, which, it 
would seem, would not sound very good when being swept.  nevertheless, I don't 
hear any stairstepping or quantizing artifacts in Ian's audio demo.  I wonder 
why?  Is stairstepping only really audible if it directly effects pitch or 
amplitude?  You can definitely hear radical stairstepping if you sweep the pitch of 
a synced VCO on a Prophet 5 (using the knob, not using an envelope).
