I do that all the time, sort of...
One installation of PBX leaves so much wire it would take a lifetime to use. And I already had 3 of those. So wirewise I'm fixed.
Nice, colorful, 0.4-0.6mm diameter solid wire, some of them are tin plated.
It's even hard to imagine tons of wire that get's trashed at public switch installation, but that doesn't happen very often.
