Rosin is your friend.
Also, I noticed that, instead of wetting the iron and then the cable with that,
sticking the solder straight to the cable doesn't let it (the solder) oxidize
that much, making it stick very well.
Works great even with normal solder and crappy wire.
On a side note (rant note):
what's with all the people using crappy wiring for their, undoubtedly,
audio equipment?
It's like we're not only using 50s style synths... but also 50s style
stupidity :P
Seriously boys and girls, use good wire.
Go to a Hi-Fi shop and buy a few meters of a good one
(just make sure it's line-level cable, not speaker cable ;) )
A cable does make a difference. Really.
