For a work project, I bought identical-sized (2U, 8" deep) enclosures
from Hammond (RMCV series, as shown on the HdB website) as well as
the Bud "Econo" (q.v.) equivalent.

No doubt about it -- the Bud box radiates "economy" in its design,
thickness of material, and finishing. It does do the job adequately
enough, though I wouldn't use one to double-duty as a rack shelf for
heavy tube gear.

The Hammond case is *really* spiffy in design and construction. There
are four transverse U-girders which are bolted to the two end plates,
and these U-girders are PEM'ed to take the top/bottom/front/rear
panels.

The weird thing is, after I'd purchased both of them, I realised that
the Hammond box was actually *cheaper* than the Bud equivalent.
