Yes, notice the infamous 'tag' hanging off that board.  Makes me think it's
a reject tag.  In any event, the Voyager has about 55 billion CMOS switches
in it (this is how it remembers/recalls pot settings) - so...I don't know if
I would have done what he did to perfectly good working $300 assembly.

But these guys do do weird things.  Even weirder:

I had the great fortune of sitting in on a lecture given by Vladimir
Ussachevsky at Cal Arts in '77.  While he was speaking to us he was playing
with our role of splicing tape and at one point he took a small piece off ,
wadded it up and stuck it in his mouth, where he chewed it like gum for a
good five minutes while we was talking to the group.

I don't know if 3M ever considered flavored versions of this stuff, but I
know one person who would have bought them by the case.
